Not all lasers are the same.
Laser can be a far more effective method of hair removal than say Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) hair removal.
Laser uses a beam of light to penetrate your skin which is absorbed by the pigment in hair and skin and is converted to heat. The heat damages the hair follicle so further hair cannot grow.
It is important to note however, that laser hair removal, even medical grade, provides a permanent hair reduction, not total removal.
Factors such as age, medication, hormones and illness play a part in the success of the treatments.
However, if you are consistent with your treatment sessions, you will see a reduction in the amount of hair that grows back.
Any re-growth is sporadic and the hair tends to be very fine. Whilst some people are happy with this, others may choose to have a touch up treatment every 12 months or so after the initial series of treatments.
